Refrigeration Technician

We are looking for a Refrigeration Technician.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY:

• Installing, maintaining and repairing commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems and equipment.
• Identifying maintenance risks on equipment.
• Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for Refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
• Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
• Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
• Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
• Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers’ requirements.
• Assisting with customers’ queries.
• Repair and maintain air conditioning, kitchen equipment and refrigeration electric/electronic controls.
• Repair and maintain other items as designated by the Supervisor.
• Report all difficulties/shortcomings requests to the Supervisor.
• To ensure that preventive maintenance schedules for all equipments are followed.
• Service and repair of HVAC and Refrigeration equipment.
• Writing report of work done.
• Work accurately and professionally to avert repeat jobs.
• Adhere to preventive maintenance schedule to avoid major breakdowns.
• Inspect equipment or installations that require maintenance and bring such to the attention of the Supervisor.
• Ensure assignments are accurately and professionally done first time.
• Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
• Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice.
• Perform other duties requested by the Supervisor.
• Willing to work anywhere in the country.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
• The technician should have a minimum of 5 years of proven experience installing, repairing, and maintaining Refrigeration and HVAC appliances.
• MUST have previous experience with Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration and HVAC systems and controls.
• Knowledge of Electrical Systems and Kitchen Equipment is directly an added advantage.
• Must have a very good understanding of electrical principles, standards, and safety measures.
• Knowledge of relevant safety and security procedures.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
